Job Title: Information Technology Applications Engineer II
Reports To: Technical Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Full-time, In-Office
Starting Salary: $36.00/hour, 35 hours per week
First Responder/Essential Employee Status: This position is not classified as a first responder under the Federal Labor Standards Act or Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:9103 and 33:9124. However, it is designated as Essential Personnel and may require reporting for duty during major events and/or declared emergencies. Failure to report as required may result in immediate dismissal.
Job Purpose/Summary of Position
Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the IT Applications Engineer II will support OPCD reporting systems, QuickBase applications, and administrative office systems. Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS-SQL), scripting languages, and core application development principles is highly beneficial. Familiarity with APIs and third-party system interfaces is preferred.
The IT Applications Engineer II operates with greater expertise and independence than IT Engineer I roles, requiring minimal supervision. Responsibilities include vendor and product selection, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing project management for system deployments and upgrades.
