Description of Work

• Experience working within a Technology Risk domain role (i.e., Internal Audit, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Security Technologies, IT Governance, etc.).
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of generally accepted information system audit standards, principles, and methodologies, such as, but not limited to, the COBIT 2019 IT Governance Framework and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Certified as a CISA, CISSP, CISM or other comparable professional certification is considered a plus.
• Proficiency in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and auditing software considered a plus.
Recruitment Range: $81,504 - $101,881
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. This position is subject to federal and state criminal background checks that may include fingerprinting and verification of tax compliance. "Tax compliance" is defined as having filed and paid all North Carolina State taxes owed each year leading up to the current calendar year or currently in a non-delinquent payment status with the State of North Carolina on taxes that are currently owed to the state.
To be considered within the most qualified pool of applicants and receive credit for your work history and credentials, you must document all related education and experience on the State of North Carolina application in the appropriate sections of the application form. Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, accounting, or a related IT degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in data analytics auditing, or information systems, programming, or technology auditing; or Associate degree in computer science from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of experience in data analytics auditing, or information systems, programming, or technology auditing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.EEO Statement
