Job Description - IT Business Partner

Principal Activities



  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership, Strategic Thinking, Contributor to Business Needs

  • Provider of recommendations to improve business processes through IT solutions

  • Researches and recommends system development priorities

  • Documentation and maintenance of SOX related matters

  • Proactive and forward thinking towards the business objectives

  • Departmental Reporting

  • Departmental Budget planning and tracking

  • Project Management, Project Planning and plan organization /development

  • Adherence and upholding of corporate IT standards and policies

  • Drive IT metrics (helpdesk, downtime measurements, deliveries, etc)

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. Uses time effectively, prioritizes and organizes work flow; can orchestrate multiple activities at once.  Agility and personal adaptability with the ability to successfully management multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data. Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement.

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in a group problem solving situations; present ideas and information in a manner that gets other’ attention; displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions includes appropriate people in decision -making process.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident, at all levels, internal and external.

  • Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting and technology. Ability to read and interpret documents.  Ability to write clearly and informatively routine reports, correspondence, and design work flows and procedures.  Presents numerical data effectively.

  • General knowledge of Business Processes, Network Technologies, AD environments, VM environments, TCP/IP, VOIP, Microsoft Office Products, and other applicable tools for both infrastructure and ERP, and PLM systems.

  • Understanding of manufacturing business processes is helpful, but not mandatory.

  • Ability to provide cross-functional and organizational leadership within a highly matrix organization.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for process improvement.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate and empower others.

  • Oversee IT projects and operations at multiple facilities.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related technical/management field or experienced considered

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience within an IT Department
