IT Finance Systems Support & Project Coordinator

Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) | West Chicago, Illinois

Salary: $88,027 – $105,633 per annum (USD)

Working pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office

Location: West Chicago, Illinois

The Opportunity

SLS is looking for an IT professional to join its team in an exciting position combining involvement in a major Finance and ERP system implementation with ongoing IT applications and technical support.

You will be involved from the early stages of the implementation of a new Finance ERP system, gaining an in-depth understanding of the platform, its functionality and how it supports the wider business.

The role will involve working with and developing knowledge of ERP and finance systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), Navision and Microsoft Dynamics AX.

This is an opportunity to be part of the implementation journey from the outset, working alongside internal teams to support system changes, configuration, permissions, testing and the introduction of new processes.

Once the implementation is complete, your responsibilities will evolve into a broader IT support function, providing general IT assistance alongside more advanced application and ERP support. Having been involved from the beginning, you'll have a deeper understanding of the systems and be well placed to investigate issues, troubleshoot problems and support colleagues across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & ERP Implementation: Get involved in the implementation of the new Finance EP system, supporting system changes, configuration and the introduction of new functionality.

ERP Applications: Work with finance and business applications, including Business Central, Navision and AX, developing an understanding of how these systems operate and interact with the wider business.

Application Support: Provide support for business applications, investigating issues and helping users get the most out of the systems.

IT Support: Provide general IT support to colleagues, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring users can access the systems and technology they need.

System Configuration & Permissions: Assist with user access, system permissions, configuration changes and the management of support tickets.

Business Collaboration: Work alongside Finance, IT and operational teams, translating business requirements into practical technical solutions.

System Changes & Improvements: Support system updates, implementation activities and ongoing improvements to business applications.

User Support: Help colleagues understand new systems and functionality, providing guidance throughout implementation and beyond.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in IT support, applications support, ERP or business systems.

Experience working with finance systems or ERP platforms.

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), Navision, Dynamics AX or similar finance/ERP applications would be advantageous.

Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, migrations or significant system changes.

An understanding of user permissions, system access, application configuration and IT support processes.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

The ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Someone proactive who can take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution.
