SOCOTEC-Campbell Hall, NY . is currently seeking a IT Help Desk Support & Web Developer. 

Key Responsibilities

• Hardware Support & Deployment: Set up, image, deploy, and repair workstations and peripherals (RAM, fans, mics) for new hires and existing staff; configure docking stations and home-office setups; manage aircards, tablets, phones, and cell boosters across job sites.
• User Account & Access Management: Create/modify/disable accounts and distribution lists; automate credential provisioning (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph); manage access via AD/Group Policy; provision O365/E3 licenses via Entra; administer intranet access; support offboarding and MFA enforcement.
• Web Development: Assist development team with web application programming using common vibe-coding platforms (e.g., Cursor).
• Network Administration: Maintain and troubleshoot Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and switches across sites, including port mapping (e.g., Advanced IP Scanner).
• Telephony/VoIP & Communications: Support auto-attendant, voicemail, and VoIP platforms (e.g., ReachUC); troubleshoot ClickUp, GroupMe, SMS-forwarding, and related automation.
• Software/Application Support: Support Windows 11, Office, Adobe, QuickBooks, SSRS, Excel/ActiveX, PDFCreator, and mission-critical custom apps.
• Printer/Scanner Support: Install and troubleshoot networked printers/scanners, print profiles, label printers, and high-quality lab print requests.
• Meetings & Collaboration Tools: Support OneDrive, conferencing tools, AV/camera setup, and meeting attendance tracking.
• Cybersecurity & Backups: Monitor endpoints (SentinelOne, Huntress); triage security incidents; review phishing-simulation results; manage email filtering (Barracuda).
• Documentation & Training: Document procedures, maintain knowledge base articles, and provide basic end-user training.
• General/Soft Skills: Deliver professional help desk support, coordinate with vendors, support multiple sites, and manage a varied daily ticket queue.

This role is primarily a hands-on, end-user support position. Responsibilities may change based on the actual scope of day-to-day work.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an IT help desk, desktop support, or similar technical support role preferred; a strong willingness to learn and grow is equally valued.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows desktop/laptop hardware (Dell) and mobile devices, including imaging, deployment, component-level repair (e.g., RAM upgrades, fan/mic replacement), and troubleshooting non-booting systems.
• Working knowledge of user account and access management, including Windows Server Active Directory/Group Policy concepts, Microsoft Office/E3/Entra administration, and secure credential provisioning for new-hire batches (e.g., one-time-secret links, MFA enforcement).
• Familiarity with VoIP/telephony systems.
• Basic knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Basic networking knowledge: Wi-Fi/access points, Ethernet, switches (including reading/documenting port maps), and general troubleshooting of connectivity issues; comfort using network diagnostic tools (e.g., Advanced IP Scanner).
• Exposure to endpoint security/antivirus tools (e.g., SentinelOne, Huntress), email filtering/security platforms (e.g., Barracuda), phishing-simulation/security-awareness training tools, and basic cybersecurity best practices.
• Basic PowerShell scripting familiarity.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across both software and hardware.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize a varied ticket queue across multiple sites.
• Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal), including comfort providing remote assistance to non-technical end users.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, including during security-incident response and employee onboarding/offboarding.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
