Kick-start your IT career as an Intern with the Green Bay Police Department! You'll have the opportunity to learn and build your resume while making a real impact. This position will assist with user support requests, PC repairs, and PC updates and replacements.
This is a summer internship, with the possibility of extension into the fall.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, either Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. or 4 weekdays from 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Provides support for Police Department technology systems and related components. Interacts with PC users providing first-line technical support resolving software, hardware, and system problems. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots software and hardware, basic network concepts, supporting new technologies, repairing workstations and performing upgrades. Keeps records of repairs and fixes. Reports reoccurring issues to management. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled in college or technical college and pursuing a degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or other related field, or recent completion of a degree in one of these fields. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of computer operating systems, networks, hardware, software, and IT components. Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles. Basic understanding of computer and network issues with troubleshooting skills. Skill in problem solving and interpersonal communication. Skill in organization and time-management. Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to work the required hours of the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to perform the following activities: Lifting up to 50 pounds. Carrying up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, crawling and stooping. Ability to focus for long periods of time on projects. Ability to reach and climb.
