Representative Duties

This position is in the Clerk's Office Tampa IT Division for the United States District Court - Middle District of Florida. The incumbent coordinates, plans, and executes information technology projects as defined by the yearly IT plan under the direction of the Director of IT. The incumbent provides administrative IT support to Judges, Judicial Staff, and Clerk's Office staff.

Prepare Request for Purchases (RFPs). Provide administrative IT support duties such as executing IT procurement and IT receiving, distributing IT hardware received, inputting data and data management, answering IT queries, and formatting and assembling IT reports.
Receive, prioritize, and route all incoming materials from within the court to appropriate individuals in the office. Receive, screen, and route incoming and outgoing mail to appropriate persons or offices; and, process mail requiring special handling.
Performing IT data asset management duties. Assists with conducting inventories.
Assists in the coordination of short-term and long-range information technology projects and improvement plans for the court. Works with IT support team members to ensure that changes are implemented with minimal disruption to court operations.
Assists with project plans approved by the IT Director and appropriately assigned staff including administrative, network, computer hardware and software, telecommunication systems, and electronic courtroom systems.
Utilizes project management tools and software to coordinate and monitor projects, research, and analyze data.
Develop and maintain logs, tracking forms, spreadsheets, and databases for tracking statistics and data; prepare statistical tables and reports at the request of the Director of IT.
Works with IT Supervisor to coordinate timely repair of hardware including servers, switches, computers, laptops, cellular telephones, desk telephones, and other related communications devices and printers.
Monitors IT maintenance dashboard activities to ensure the renewal and scheduling of system software subscriptions and maintenance agreements. Perform IT vendor management and keep a list of current vendors.
Work with IT Supervisor to identify appropriate IT staff by project, and coordinate IT staff time requirements per project to ensure objectives are met.
Work with IT Supervisor to oversee courtroom technology systems, including audio and video systems, and coordinate new work, maintenance, and repairs with vendors when necessary.
Prepares equipment for disposal, and generates necessary paperwork to seek approval to proceed with disposal processes, and coordinate with agencies to see the equipment approved for disposal is disposed of properly.
Orders new laptops, tablets, cell phones, and accessories for cyclical replacement.
Prepares meeting minutes and minutes summaries of Judicial IT Committee Meetings
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Thorough knowledge of theories, principles, practices, and techniques of computer hardware and software, office automation, database design, data communications, courtroom technology and telecommunications. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and determine the automation needs of the court as well as planning to implement systems that meet those needs. Ability to train non?automation personnel in automation techniques and processes. Knowledge of the functions and processes of the court. Ability to meet established and adhere to deadlines and commitments.
