IT - Project Manager - Chicago - $85k - $110k

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager to oversee a variety of IT projects across diverse portfolios, including Core IT, Accounting, Marketing, HR, Knowledge Management, and Data Management. This role demands excellence in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, following a standardized process. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional initiatives related to business operations, application lifecycles, networking, hosting, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and other IT domains. Effective organization and communication with system architects and business stakeholders from various departments are crucial. Strong project management, program management, communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Project Managers, IT team members, stakeholders, and various departments to ensure successful project execution from initiation to closure.
Develop key project documents, including project charters, plans, status reports, risk assessments, and gating presentations, ensuring all relevant documentation is produced.
Present project gating updates to IT Directors at various project stages.
Monitor project pipeline, budgets, risks, issues, and mitigation plans for assigned projects.
Resolve conflicts related to resources, timing, and other project-related issues.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of project management best practices and standards within the IT PMO.
Perform additional duties as required.

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
At least 4 years of experience, including a minimum of 2 years in managing IT and business-related projects.
Proven track record in contributing to process and methodology improvements.
Expertise in project management practices, tools, and methodologies, with proficiency in a project management tool (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Planview, Microsoft Project).
Preferred:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Management Information Systems.
Familiarity with transactional systems, particularly in accounting, finance, human resources, and core IT functions.
