Job Description - IT Support Specialist - Join a Leading Company

The IT Support Specialist position will provide desktop support and assist with network systems. This role will interact with staff through inbound calls, voicemail, and email to produce a stable, consistent, and dependable Service Desk. Duties may also involve the scoping, development, testing and deployment of IT Systems which improve the overall efficiency of the IT Department and/or the CONAM organization. This includes tool implementation, resolving end-user technical challenges, software installations, computer deployments, peripheral maintenance, assisting with server deployments and maintenance, working with networking equipment and general IT troubleshooting.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a IT Support Specialist to join our team at the corporate office, this position is a hybrid work schedule.

This position is Full-Time | Hourly | Full Benefits eligible.

Pay Range: $25 - $28 / Hour

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Desktop Support Duties
    • Meet regularly with IT Infrastructure Manager to provide status updates
    • Monitor ticket queue, resolve issues or assign tickets to other team members
    • Document IT processes and create physical & logical infrastructure diagrams
    • Set up and manage user accounts and permissions to consent access to a network
    • Desktop and laptop troubleshooting and support
    • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Assist with computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, wired and wireless network cards and media devices setup or troubleshooting
    • Manage and Monitor ServiceDesk Ticket System
    • Troubleshoot and fix complex software and hardware issues for desktops, smart phones, peripherals, and MS Office applications using an Endpoint Management System (Quest KACE preferred)
    • Understanding of network concepts and TCP/IP
  2. Network Support Duties
    • Design, Develop, Deploy and Track custom scripts or solutions to integrate disparate systems or to automate routine processes within the IT Department
    • Manage, Monitor and Develop deployment and patching strategies using Dell KACE
    • Design, Develop and Institute reporting of all automated or scripted systems for compliance or auditing purposes
    • Manage user accounts and email addresses, including auditing of the automated AD user object management scripts
    • Manage and Monitor systems compliance through Endpoint Management System (KACE) and AD Group Policies
    • Manage and Monitor ESET Anti-Virus Enterprise Solution
    • Work closely with IT Systems Engineer to provide backup support
    • Monitor and respond to IT system alerts during business hours
    • Troubleshooting networking, server/OS, & virtualization issues
  3. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • College education or equivalent certification required
  • 3+ years of experience working in an enterprise environment or equivalent
  • 4+ years of proven track record in a similar role responsible for a large percent of a corporate IT infrastructure
  • 1+ years of experience creating enterprise level scripts/functions with PowerShell
  • Required Skills / Knowledge
    • PC operating systems and hardware
    • Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
    • Computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, wired and wireless network cards and media devices
    • PowerShell
    • Wireless clients and stand-alone Access Points
    • Smartphone (iPhone/Android)
    • General networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, VLAN, IPconfig)
    • Windows Server Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Exchange Management Console
    • Centrally managed Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)/Antivirus (AV)
    • General Windows Server knowledge
    • Desktop/Laptop imaging solutions (Ghost, Sysprep, Acronis, WDS, KACE)
    • Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Preferred Skills / Knowledge
    • Direct experience implementing and supporting a wide range of technologies, preferably:
      • VMWare & HyperV
      • SAN and NAS systems including Dell EqualLogic and Synology
      • Numerous Operating Systems from Windows 2008 – 2012 R2 and Linux Red Hat
      • Cloud hosts such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure etc.
      • Veeam Backup & Recovery, as part of a Disaster Recovery solution
      • Cisco and/or Juniper network systems
    • SQL Server Reporting Services
    • Cost effective planning and implementation
    • Dell KACE
    • WordPress
    • SharePoint
    • VMware ESX
    • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
    • Mac operating system and hardware
    • Video conference systems
    • Firewall and router management
    • SSL Certificates and encryption technologies
    • Exchange Server
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor
  • Must have reliable transportation for client visits
  • Excellent track record of delivering accurate, high-quality, enterprise grade solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
