Job Description - IT Support Tech - Get Hired Fast

We are seeking a creative IT Support Tech to join our fast-paced team at F2Onsite in Los Angeles, CA.

IT Support Tech

MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL:

  • Location: start at Glendale, CA but will travel to other project sites like Long Beach and Northridge in the future.
  • Mileage will be reimbursed
  • Requested Start: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Looking for someone detail oriented, able to walk distances and crawl under desks.
  • Tech will need to capture detailed information about each device, update a tracking spreadsheet completely and accurately and be able to search for items within a spreadsheet.
  • General tech/field engineer experience required but does not have to be extensive.
  • They aren't imaging devices or resolving customer tickets.
  • Must be reliable and show up on time.
  • Team oriented. It is an All Hands On Deck type project.
  • Strict deadlines and everyone has to do their part in the team.
  • Work involves mapping the phones and jacks at the hospital, updating inventory, placing new network phones and ensuring they work properly
  • Advising staff on appropriate procedures for directing their IT-related queries and recommendations.
  • Receiving and documenting requests for support.
  • Deciding on the most suitable ways of providing aid.
  • Delivering IT and related assistance upon request, or as you deem suitable.
  • Configuring new desktops, routers, modems, and similar devices.
  • Performing routine inspections and upkeep of existing installations.
  • Updating computer operating systems and other important software, as needed.
  • Substantiating requests for hardware and software purchases and upgrades, if appropriate.
  • Providing suggestions on appropriate training for staff.
  • Collaborating with the IT department on the deployment and maintenance of network technologies.
  • Enhancing intranet performance and creating internet domains.
  • Testing the exchange of data between computers, servers, modems, and routers.
  • Installing, configuring, and updating network software, as well as maintaining hardware and network devices.
  • Performing diagnostic tests and repairs, as well as developing data archiving, backup, and retrieval procedures.
  • Optimizing server capacity to keep up with demand in online traffic.
  • Testing network protocols and ensuring stable and secure server connectivity.
  • Training junior IT personnel, providing onsite or remote or technical support, and preparing user manuals.
  • Documenting network processes and layouts, as well as enhancing network security.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in network infrastructure and technologies.
  • Upgrading and maintaining companies' current telecommunications systems.
  • Evaluating customers' needs and installing telecommunications systems that best meet those needs.
  • Running routine tests on telecommunications systems to ensure that all components are functioning at optimal levels.
  • Performing diagnostic testing on problematic telecommunications systems to identify and resolve various technical faults.
  • Performing temporary fixes until extensive repair work can be done at a later date.
  • Checking all wiring work done to ensure that there are no exposed cables.
  • Ordering replacement components for telecommunications equipment and devices from suitable vendors.
  • Investigating and resolving customers' complaints in a timely manner.
