We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator for a direct-hire opportunity with a manufacturing operation in Southeast Houston.
This is a hands-on position responsible for supporting the company's IT infrastructure, end users, Microsoft environment, and ERP systems. The role combines traditional systems administration and help-desk responsibilities with ERP support, SQL/database work, system customization, and technology improvement projects.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting ERP systems within a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working directly with users, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting databases and integrations, and reading or modifying code when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain computer networks, information systems, security, and overall system health.
Provide hands-on help-desk support for hardware, software, desktop, printer, and user issues.
Administer Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Teams-based phone systems.
Support and maintain ERP applications, databases, integrations, and customizations.
Work with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, and Visual Studio to support reporting and business-system requirements.
Troubleshoot ERP and application issues and coordinate with users, vendors, and external technology partners.
Gather business requirements and develop or enhance solutions that improve operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve system functionality.
Evaluate hardware and software needs and proactively manage technology end-of-life requirements.
Analyze systems for cybersecurity vulnerabilities and implement appropriate safeguards.
Support wireless communications and messaging platforms.
Educate employees on technology resources, system functionality, and best practices.
Support business continuity, disaster recovery, data protection, and system-recovery initiatives.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Accounting, and other departments on technology and ERP improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or a related technical role.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Hands-on experience supporting ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Strong systems administration, troubleshooting, and end-user support experience.
Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
Working experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, and/or Visual Studio.
Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and modify code or system customizations when required.
Strong communication, organization, documentation, and customer-service skills.
Ability to manage multiple technical priorities in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Ability to work full-time onsite in Southeast Houston.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong ERP system administration and database experience.
Manufacturing, fabrication, or job-shop industry experience.
Experience gathering business requirements and developing custom business solutions.
Experience with automation and business-process improvement initiatives.
Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Experience working with external ERP, software, or IT vendors and consultants.
What We're Looking For
This opportunity is best suited for someone who enjoys being a hands-on IT resource while also taking ownership of larger ERP and systems-improvement initiatives. Candidates should be equally comfortable helping an employee resolve a technical issue, troubleshooting an ERP or database problem, and developing a longer-term solution that improves how the business operates.
$95,000–$120,000 annual base salary DOE + annual bonus. Direct-hire, full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule.
