ResponsibilitiesThe
IT Technician
plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to end-users. They are responsible for resolving hardware and software issues faced by users, both on-site and over the phone. This includes diagnosing problems, guiding users through step-by-step solutions, and delivering clear and user-friendly technical instructions. The IT Technician also assists in the setup, configuration, and tagging of PC desktop hardware, software, and peripherals. They are skilled in troubleshooting network and printer problems, PC hardware issues, and resolving issues related to email, internet, and local-area network access. Additionally, they are capable of performing minor repairs on PC equipment and peripherals and can assist with the installation of local area network cabling systems and equipment. The IT Technician ensures that end-users receive prompt and effective technical support to maintain smooth operations and maximize productivity.
This Position starts at $22.00 Per Hour
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Required at Entry:
A+ certification or certificate from a two-year accredited computer technical program preferred.
Help desk support experience strongly preferred.
Experience in desktop, printer, and copier installation and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in networking cabling, routers, wireless networking VPN, and remote administration of LAN/WAN installation, support, and maintenance.
Software knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Office 2016/2021
Licenses/Certificate/Clearances:
Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License and a registered and insured vehicle.
Knowledge of:
Computer hardware configuration, including desktop computers, laptops, servers, smartphones, and mobile computing devices.
Input devices such as keyboards, mice, and scanners.
Output devices including displays, printers, and speakers.
Data storage devices, both internal and external hard drives.
Networking hardware like routers, switches, and fiber optics.
Software knowledge of Windows XP/7 and Office 2003/2007.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Mobility to drive and participate in meetings at client's homes and/or community facilities that may not meet Federal accessibility standards.
Manual dexterity necessary to work with technical equipment in an active environment.
