IT-Computer Network Support Specialist

Description

Summary:

Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.

Qualifications:

• Maintain reliable transportation available for use during working hours, valid driver’s license and provide proof of automobile liability coverage.
• Proven track record within an IT Assistant role.
• Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department, i.e. overtime.
• Possess excellent research and writing skills.
• Possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Possess the ability to use tact and empathy when dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
• Possess the ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in network security products.
• Accept responsibility and demonstrate leadership.
• Trustworthy – Able to keep business confidences as required.
• Open minded – Willing to embrace change.
• Be able to multitask effectively, think creatively and strategically in a sometimes fast paced environment. 
• Able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus and productivity to meet deadlines. 

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology is required. Experience or formal training in several of the following areas is preferred: job development, task analysis, data-keeping, job analysis, work site training, IT, networks, software and hardware implementation and support. 

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

Driving record must meet insurability requirements and must furnish own transportation.

Physical Demands:

The employee must be able to perform the essential duties of this job.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally loud. Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as vinyl or latex gloves is occasionally required.
