Position Overview 
The Item Technician (level I, II, or III) position is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing proof work within established guidelines and according to proper procedure.  Essential responsibilities include entering data into systems, accounting for customer and teller corrections, and helping to balance proof work.

Essential Job Responsibilities Tech I
•    Process proof work from branches.
•    Ensure proof work is balanced including customer and teller corrections.
•    Audit and enter any missing GL data via proof of deposit.
•    Repair, image, and send rejected POD items to appropriate areas.
•    Make sure that incoming/outgoing mail is sent to correct department. 

Essential Job Functions / Tech II
•    Research and validate serial numbers for Official checks.
•    Crosstrain to open, prep and run tape totals for Lockbox deposits. 

Essential Job Functions / Tech III
•    Review transactions for account manipulation.
•    Review Positive Pay Payee Match.
•    Communicate with branches to correct erroneous transactions.

Additional Job Functions
•    Assist other operators as needed.

Minimum Requirements – Level 1 & 2
•    High School diploma (or equivalent), and six months related experience.

Minimum Requirements – Level 3

•    High school diploma and one year of related experience.

Competencies – All levels
•    10 key experience/proficiency strongly preferred.
•    Strong math skills including the ability to balance deposits.
•    Ability to maintain high level of output while working independently.
•    Prior teller experience helpful but not necessary.

Location Details

This position requires the incumbent to work onsite in Aurora, IL on a daily basis to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. 

Compensation & Benefits

Item Technician - Level 1
Base pay:  $17.75 - $21.75/hour

Item Technician - Level 2
Base pay: $18.40 - $23.00/hour
Old Second is committed to fair and equitable pay practices. Pay is dependent upon the pay range and the incumbent’s knowledge, skills and experience. 

Item Technician - Level 3
Base pay: $19.10 - $24.80/hour
