Jail Diversion Case Manager

The Jail Diversion Case Manager works in collaboration with Jail and Parole/Probations staff to coordinate care support and services for program involved individuals. Jail Diversion services are intended to minimize contact with law enforcement and reduce jail time for individuals with behavioral health needs (mental health / substance use disorders).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parole/probation staff to identify clients who have high behavioral health needs.


• Must be familiar with community resources, support, and services that will minimize contact with law enforcement in the community. The Case Manager will guide and support program clients, assisting them in accessing needed supports (behavioral health services, housing, health services, crisis management skills).


• Will attend all meetings with parole/probation and law enforcement that are relevant to individuals being served.


• Works with partner agency program staff to review client progress and to support service plans as needed.


• Complete all required program reporting documentation and service summaries.

Required Education and Experience

• QMHA or bachelor’s degree in related field required

Preferred Education and Experience

·         Bilingual – Spanish

·         Previous experience with courts and legal system helpful.

·         Work history of relevant behavioral health/health services agency experience.
