Description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for all activities related to janitorial duties (offices, bathroom, lunchroom, warehouse, and outside grounds) for our facility.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sweep, mop, dust and perform building maintenance among other janitorial duties.
• Gather and empty trash. 
• Operate floor scrubber and other janitorial equipment.
• Clean, service, and resupply restrooms.
• Use work order system to capture time for tasks.
• Performs custodial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas, and other building interiors.
• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using standard or industrial equipment.
• Empties recycling and trash receptacles daily and removes the contents to appropriate dumpsters.
• Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes/cleans walls, doors, glass, windows, ceilings.
• Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas as required.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, carpets, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• May also sweep walks or perform other incidental seasonal tasks when required.
• Keeps breakroom area surfaces and appliances clean and free from stains; including floors, table tops, counters.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Previous janitorial / cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs., and may weigh up to 70 lbs.
• Demonstrated ability to read and follow cleaning procedures and check sheets to an acceptable degree.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
• Team-work oriented attitude
