Janitor - 1st Shift (Automotive Manufacturing Facility)

  **This is a 1st shift position (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)**

Summary

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout Plant 1 and Plant 2 by performing janitorial, facility upkeep, and light grounds maintenance duties.

Functions

Job Specific Responsibilities

· Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in the offices, on the shop floor, and outside areas of Plant 1 and Plant 2.

· Completes weekly Janitorial Checklist, which includes, but is not limited to: Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all floors, wiping surfaces, washing windows, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

· Empties trash cans, recyclables and shredders.

· Cleans and maintains all bathrooms. Keep supplies needed in the bathrooms full. 

· Cleans and maintains all kitchen/staff lounge areas.

· Cleans and maintains all common areas, including front lobbies and hallways.

· Keeps front doors and windows clean.

· Cleans machines on the shop floor.

· Periodic cleaning of spills.

· Maintain parking lot by cleaning up litter, pulling weeds, trimming bushes, etc.

· Shovel the snow during winter months, if needed.

· Communicate with supervisor when supplies are needed.

· Keep janitor closet clean and tidy.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position (40 hours per week).

Eligibility Qualifications

· High School Diploma/GED

· Some previous experience in maintaining a clean work environment preferred

Physical Requirements 

· Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.

· Physical stamina for daily cleaning duties throughout the shop and offices

Work Environment 

· Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and temperature changes. PPE required.
