Janitor/ Custodian

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our fast-paced dental practice. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment by ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments following OSHA and CDC guidelines. 
• Prepare and package instruments for sterilization. 
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (autoclaves). 
• Maintain sterilization logs and quality assurance records. 
• Stock operatories with instruments and supplies. 
• Organize and maintain the sterilization area. 
• Assist with inventory and supply management. 
• Dispose of biohazard waste according to regulations. 
• Maintain a clean and orderly clinical environment. 
• Support the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow.

 Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. 
• Previous healthcare, dental, medical, or sterilization experience preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate. 
• Excellent attention to detail. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills. 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude. 
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Dental assisting or central sterile processing experience. 
• Knowledge of infection control procedures. 
• Familiarity with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
