Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Janitor will work at the Federal Building in Richland, WA, providing prescriptive cleaning services. This role involves both independent work and collaboration with a team to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned according to standards set by the Federal Building Program Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform restroom cleaning, trash removal, and cleaning of offices and exam rooms
Clean kitchens, windows, and common areas
Dust mop and wet mop floors; dust furniture and vacuum carpets
Complete additional assigned duties, which may include:
Checking restroom supplies
Turning off lights
Cleaning elevators
Folding laundry
Compacting trash
Assist with maintaining exterior grounds and trash removal around the Federal Building
Ensure safety by placing cones when floors are wet and removing them promptly when dry
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety standards
Communicate effectively with Columbia Ability Alliance staff and building occupants
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be eligible under program requirements, including having a documented disability
Must be able to pass a Federal Building background check
Must follow all security protocols
Must wear required uniform and identification badge at all times
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct
Must notify supervisor at least two hours prior to shift if unable to work (unless emergency circumstances apply)
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
REASONING ABILITY AND OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of tasks with limited standardization
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work near moving mechanical parts
Moderate to loud noise levels
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and blood-borne pathogens
