Responsibilities

• Accurately translate and localize written documents, audio recordings, or spoken conversations from English into Japanese and from Japanese into English.


• Create and synchronize subtitles for audio-visual material and online presentations.


• Research and apply industry-specific and gaming-related terminology consistently.


• Render the message and meaning of the source text into the target text.


• Proofread and review translated content to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and quality.


• Edit content while maintaining its original format (e.g., font and structure)


• Collaborate with project managers, editors, and developers to meet project goals and deadlines.

Requirements and skills

• Proven professional experience as a gaming translator or localization specialist.


• Native-level Japanese proficiency and strong professional proficiency in English.


• Excellent understanding of cultural nuances, idiomatic expressions, and gaming terminology in both languages.


• Strong time-management and organizational skills.


• Ability to work under pressure.


• Strong attention to detail.


• Familiarity with WordPress is advantageous.


• Experience with content editing, localization, or CAT tools is highly desirable.


• Degree or relevant certification in translation, linguistics, or language studies is advantageous.


• Availability to work 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with flexibility to meet deadlines.
