Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II

Overview:
Join a dedicated Laboratory Services team in the Southern Tier region of New York. This role is critical to supporting essential lab operations during the evening/night shift, performing a variety of non-technical but vital functions. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional committed to safety, compliance, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy with strict adherence to safety and patient identification protocols.
• Register patients and accurately enter lab orders based on provider documentation.
• Process, label, and track specimens for in-house and reference testing.
• Prepare and handle specialized specimens, including 24-hour urine collections.
• Maintain and monitor lab supplies, ensuring availability and checking expiration dates.
• Perform scheduled courier runs to transport lab materials and medical supplies.
• Provide support at Patient Service Centers, including documentation and specimen handling.
• Conduct home draw visits with a focus on safety and patient comfort.
• Assist with office functions such as answering phones, managing faxes, and maintaining temperature logs.
• Deliver excellent patient service through professional, compassionate communication.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experiences:
• Completion of CLA 1 competencies AND one of the following:
• One year of laboratory experience, OR
• A current phlebotomy certification.
• Other:
• Valid driver's license that meets agency standards.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional patient care.
• Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift up to 20 lbs regularly and 40 lbs occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $19 - $24 Per Hour

Schedule:

• Full-time: 7 on / 7 off schedule (Wednesday–Tuesday)
• Shift: Evening, 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM (10-hour shifts)
• Work arrangement: ONSITE
