Job Description:

The Journeyman Electrician installs, repairs and maintains electrical systems, following blueprints, codes and safety standards.  This position will also troubleshoot and mentor apprentices.

Job Duties:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, and lighting systems in commercial and industrial settings


• Cutting, bending, threading and running electrical conduit materials


• Pulling electrical wiring through electrical conduit


• Terminate electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices


• Test and connect electrical systems and components to ensure they are functioning properly


• Use a variety of hand and power tools, including multimeters, wire strippers, and other specialized equipment


• May supervise and train apprentice electricians


• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Must provide proof of CA Journeyman Electrician certification


• Proficient knowledge of electrical theory, the National Electric Code, and local and state electric building codes


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics


• Clear understanding of lock out and tag out


• OSHA 10 is required


• Scissor lift and reach lift training is preferred

• Exposure to outdoor elements and extreme temperatures


• Ability to lift 50 lbs and push/ pull up to 100 lbs


• Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word level.


• Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing data, operation of field equipment, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
