Industrial Journeyman Electrician
Location: Main Office – Sugarland /Jobsite: Katy, TX
Job Summary:
As an Industrial Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. You will work closely with other trade professionals and adhere to safety standards while ensuring that all work meets local and national electrical codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in industrial facilities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, P&ID’s, schematics, and technical drawings to complete installations and repairs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and practices within the workplace.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize electrical systems for efficiency and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
- Stay current with advancements in electrical technologies and regulations through continuous education.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and safety practices.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with high-voltage systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training.
