What?
The Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic effectively maintains plant equipment and facilities to support production and other business needs.  This role performs service, repairs and preventative maintenance and troubleshoots complex issues utilizing mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills. 

Main aspects of the role include:

• Inspects, repairs, and performs general maintenance on packaging, processing and other plant equipment or facilities.  Performs journeyman level industrial maintenance on packaging, processing, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, boiler, wastewater, and other plant support equipment as available under vari­ous environmental conditions in accordance with manufacturers' recommendation.
• Maintains accurate maintenance records including utilizing EAM to review work orders, log resources used and update status. 
• Provides Processing and Packaging operators and other team members with technical assistance and training on the equipment and processes as necessary.
• Performs preventive maintenance duties on assigned support equipment and as scheduled. 
• Inspects defective support equipment and diagnoses malfunctions.  Applies correc­tive measures and informs Engineering and supervisory personnel on suggested permanent fix.
• Assembles and/or fabricates and repairs equipment
• First responder in emergency situations.  Required to complete 24 hour HAZWOPR training and doctor’s examination to receive SCBA and full facemask training.  Required to maintain this training with 8 hours additional refresher training annually.
• Required to complete training in cGMP compliance and may be required to repair or troubleshoot equipment during cGMP manufacturing.

• Regular requirement to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, reach, carry, and lift and twist
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

OFD contains office, manufacturing and outdoor workspaces where this position is required to access and work.  The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand and climb; bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools, controls; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry tools or items. This position also requires a person to handle environments of varied temperatures and with various food allergens present; and be comfortable at various heights.   

You!
This individual will have experience with processing and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a state-certified mechanical apprenticeship program (such as a millwright) or equivalent is required. Additional certifications, such as a state-certified course, LME apprenticeship, or related training, are a plus. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs is also beneficial. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently. Reliable transportation is required to travel between company locations.
