Job Description
Scroggs Construction is seeking motivated and experienced Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenters to join our team. You will work on a variety of remodeling, restoration, and new home construction projects, contributing your carpentry expertise while growing within an expanding organization. The ideal candidate is an experienced carpenter who excels in solving complex construction challenges independently and has a strong desire to develop their skills further. You will work closely with a crew of carpenters and project supervisors, ensuring the successful completion of high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
Gather materials for job site activities and ensure tools and equipment are properly serviced.
Maintain clean and organized job sites.
Lead and oversee crews in carpentry work for maintenance, repair, alterations, and construction of buildings and structures.
Assist with supervising and coordinating carpentry activities and personnel as directed.
Coordinate carpentry tasks with other trades to ensure seamless project progress.
Provide input and assistance on estimates, reports, and requisitions.
Perform all carpentry duties, including finish carpentry, following established techniques and procedures.
Act as supervisor in the absence of the project supervisor.
Assist with constructing slabs, elevated structures, and establishing reference points and lines.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years in construction, with at least 2 years in finish carpentry or a crew leader position.
Relevant construction coursework is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
Proficiency in operating carpentry tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout construction projects.
Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and procedures.
Supervisory skills and ability to lead a team.
Physical Requirements:
Sufficient strength and dexterity to perform heavy work in various weather conditions.
Ability to lift, load, and unload heavy construction materials frequently.
Must wear and use personal protective equipment as needed.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to job sites.
Ownership of basic hand tools (preferred for journeyman-level and helper positions).
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the company.
Preference given to candidates who own their own carpentry tools.
