POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team for a critical project involving the construction of shelters for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in San Angelo. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to ensure the successful completion of shelter installations. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical codes, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a construction environment.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Electrician, you will be tasked with…
- Installation: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components for shelter structures, including wiring, circuit breakers, and outlets.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine electrical layout and installation requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations, including CBP project-specific requirements.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing of electrical systems to identify and rectify faults or malfunctions. Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, general contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical work and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines specific to the construction site.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, modifications, and repairs. Complete necessary paperwork and reports as required.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions to ensure project milestones are met effectively.
- Identifying potential clients, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, manufacturers, and partners
- Understanding unique communication requirements, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of the engagement
- Effectively communicating the value of Commdex products or services will be crucial in achieving sales targets and expanding our customer base.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Minimum Education – High School or must have completed Electrical apprenticeship program at trade school or equivalent
- Minimum Years of Experience – 4 Years
- Functional Responsibilities - Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. May install or service lights, or electrical control systems.
- Experience working with tower lighting systems and administering FAA requirements. Certification from a professional, certified tower climbing training program. Possess and maintain credentials as a city- or state-certified master electrician or have a journeyman’s.
