Jr. Software Engineer - Professional Development Opportunities

Job Summary

This position will complete various technical tasks around fleet management of on-premise and remote devices. Work to complete testing on units, automate testing where possible, install software and troubleshoot systems. 
 
Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Linux systems, including writing scripts, installing software/tools, and diagnosing issues.
• Configure Windows systems, write PowerShell scripts, and utilize other tools in PowerShell.
• Develop and maintain basic Python scripts for automation, parsing and other tasks.
• Work with JSON data structures
• Basic understanding of SQL for database querying and manipulation
• Basic hardware skills including working with electronics, hookup, teardown, handling and storing sensitive electronic devices.
• Basic understanding of cloud services such as GCP, AWS or Azure
• Document technical systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
• Proficiency in Linux system administration, including shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Windows system administration and PowerShell scripting.
• Basic proficiency in Python 3 programming.
• Understanding of JSON data format.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for querying and basic manipulation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work with document and spreadsheets.
• Willingness to take on new skills – we’ll guide you, you’ll take initiative.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work both remotely and onsite:
  • On site directly on equipment
  • Off site via desk sharing, ssh terminal and other remote tools – must be able to manage remote communication, solid video conferencing, email, chat, skills

 

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
