Position Overview: The JumpStart Coordinator is an essential part of the Housing Catalyst Team. JumpStart (also known as Family Self-Sufficiency) is a HUD program that assists individuals over the course of five years with creating achievable goals to promote self-sufficiency. This pivotal role is responsible for a caseload of residents and works with them regularly to set and achieve goals related to health and wellness, education and employment, financial empowerment, life skills and community engagement.


 


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and provide ongoing case management according to Family Self-Sufficiency Program.

  • Coach participants in obtaining employment, educational, and financial objectives and goals using motivational interviewing principles.

  • Work to resolve and mediate resident needs with other internal depts.

  • Maintain case management records per company policy and applicable laws.

  • Exchange information, ask questions, check for understanding in English or Spanish.

  • Apply harm reduction and trauma-informed care principles and techniques into all interactions with residents, respond to residents in crisis.

  • Demonstrate understanding and best practices in working with residents with a history of addiction/recovery, domestic violence, trauma, homelessness; comply with mandatory reporting situations and requirements.

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards, act with an appropriate sense of urgency and accountability, correctly handle confidential information, and maintain professional relations and boundaries with those contact during work.

  • Conduct staff training and education to ensure program effectiveness and a positive impact.

  • Collaborate with community networks and agencies to provide coordinated services.

  • Assist residents who are experiencing a mental health crisis, upset, or in need of help.

  • Collect and report informational, statistical, or finance budget data as requested.


 


Qualifications


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree social work or related field

  • Experience: minimum 1 year of experience in case management or housing assistance programs



  • Knowledge of case management practices and techniques in crisis intervention; Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care, and Harm Reduction principles and practices.

  • Ability to recognize and identify risk factors and dynamics found in vulnerable populations.

Technical Skills:



  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Yardi, and Able to analyze and verify data from multiple sources.

Residency Requirement: Applicants must be residents of Larimer or Weld County at the time of hire or be willing to establish residency within six months from the date of hire.


 


Compensation and Benefits



  • Initial Hiring Range: $28.84 -$34.66

  • Expected Salary Range: $28.78 - $37.65

  • Training Range (for Candidates with Unfulfilled Qualifications): $25.71 - $28.70
