Summary

This role is well suited for someone with approximately three years of technical sales, applications engineering, field sales, or customer-facing engineering experience who wants to build a long-term career in industrial technology sales.

You will work with utility engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, and electrical safety teams to understand customer challenges and recommend Grace solutions that improve safety, compliance, reliability, and uptime.

You will partner closely with account managers, territory sales teams, distributors, engineering firms, OEMs, and Grace product specialists. Over time, you will develop the technical and commercial experience required to manage larger accounts and more complex opportunities independently.

Reports to the Director of Vertical Market Strategy.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Supporting  sales growth across utilities, power generation facilities, and related  industrial infrastructure accounts
  • Identifying customer needs through technical discovery meetings, site visits, and application discussions
  • Presenting and demonstrating Grace electrical safety, monitoring, and predictive maintenance solutions
  • Helping customers select appropriate products based on their applications,  electrical systems, safety requirements, and operational goals
  • Supporting specification, design-in, pilot, and standardization opportunities with engineering and safety teams
  • Developing relationships with engineers, maintenance leaders, electrical safety professionals, operations teams, and other customer stakeholders
  • Preparing technical proposals, product recommendations, quotations, and follow-up documentation
  • Supporting opportunities from initial discovery through evaluation, purchase, installation, and expansion
  • Coordinating with internal product, engineering, customer service, and sales teams to address customer requirements
  • Working with distributors, channel partners, EPCs, system integrators, and OEMs to expand market reach
  • Participating in customer training, industry events, trade shows, and technical presentations
  • Maintaining accurate opportunity, account, activity, and forecast information within HubSpot
  • Continuing to develop knowledge of utility operations, electrical safety standards, predictive maintenance, and Grace product applications

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a closely related technical field

  • Approximately three or more years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, field engineering, business development, or another customer-facing technical role
  • Experience working with industrial, electrical, utility, power generation, automation, maintenance, or reliability applications
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical  technical solutions
  • Confidence communicating with engineers, technicians, maintenance professionals, operations leaders, and purchasing teams
  • Strong presentation, listening, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability  to manage multiple customer opportunities and follow-up activities with  strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to develop expertise in electrical safety, predictive maintenance, utility operations, and specification-based selling
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with sales, engineering, product, and channel teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to customer locations, partner sites, and industry events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling or supporting electrical, automation, controls, monitoring, instrumentation, safety, or industrial technology products
  • Familiarity with power generation facilities, electric utilities, water utilities, industrial plants, or critical infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of electrical panels, control systems, switchgear, motor control centers, or industrial electrical equipment
  • Exposure to SCADA systems, industrial communication protocols, condition monitoring, or predictive maintenance technologies
  • Experience working with distributors, engineering firms, EPCs, system integrators, or OEMs

This position requires regular domestic travel to customer sites, industry events, and partner locations.

Language Skills  

Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation. Ability to efficiently use Google translate to support customers in other languages.

Mathematical Skills  

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pricing, quotes, and discounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability  

Ability to solve practical issues involving a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have sufficient knowledge of industry accepted ERP and CRM system, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook. A general understanding of industry SCADA systems and other communication protocols would be helpful.

Ability to travel up to 50% annually. 

Work Environment

The work environment includes a combination of home- or office-based work, customer meetings, industrial facilities, power generation sites, utility environments, and industry events.

The noise level is generally moderate but may be higher when visiting industrial or operating facilities. Appropriate safety training and personal protective equipment will be provided or required when entering customer locations.
