Junior Accountant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks to support our financial operations. This role requires high accuracy, efficiency, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Job Location:

Midtown Manhattan near the Empire State Building.  Please note that this position must work in the office. Remote work is not available.

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily accounting tasks including transaction processing, reconciliations, and maintaining financial records.


• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and other documents.
  


• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions.


• Provide administrative support to the accounting department, such as filing, data entry, and handling correspondence.
  


• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).


• 1-2 years of experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role.


• A working understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.


• Excellent math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.


• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)


• High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.


• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with integrity.


• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
