Junior Civil Engineer - Exciting Challenge

Title: Junior Civil Engineer
Type: Contract Assignment - Long Term
Duration: 52 weeks and extensions
Location: MTA - NYC Transit - Brooklyn NY 11201 and various sites in NYC
Shifts: 8 AM to 4 PM / 10 PM to 6 AM (flexible) - 35 Hour Week
Pay Rate Range: $28.00 to $31.00 per hour, based on relevant CADD and Surveying experience.

Assignment Description:
* Projects will originate from MTA - NYC Transit Track Design & Specifications MOW Engineering Group, located at 130 Livingston Street, Brooklyn NY 11201.
* Individual will be required to support engineering activities within the Track Engineering office, assisting in the design/drafting of railway track projects.
* Individual will be required to perform surveys using topographical equipment and instruments.
* Individual will be required to create design drawings using Microstation or AutoCad CADD platforms.
* Individual will be required to perform field inspections of railway track, to verify compliance to design and specifications.
* Individual must be able to drive a vehicle to various project sites throughout the City of New York.

Licensing Requirements:
* Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Qualifications Requirements:
* Must possess a BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited institution.
* Must possess, at least, one (1) year of surveying experience on construction projects, utilizing various topographical instruments, proficiently.
* Must possess proficiency on either Microstation or AutoCAD CAD platforms, latest releases.
* Must be able to work outdoors, for extended periods of time, on irregular surfaces (tunnel tracks, elevated walkways, train yard).
* Must be able to carry surveying instruments and other equipment, up to twenty (20) pounds, climbing and descending ladders.
* Working conditions may include poor lighting, grease & debris, wet conditions, enclosed spaces and high noise levels.
