Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer with at least 1 year of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The ideal candidate will assist in the design, development, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems for defense-related projects. This role provides hands-on experience with mechanical engineering fundamentals in a structured and mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support senior engineers in the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems for defense applications
- Conduct engineering calculations, modeling, and simulations using tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and documentation for fabrication and assembly
- Assist with prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting
- Contribute to design reviews, technical reports, and project documentation in accordance with DoD standards
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD, ASME, and other relevant specifications and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, systems engineers, and project managers
- Perform risk assessments and contribute to configuration management and quality control processes
