Junior Electrical/Communications Engineer

Position – Junior Electrical/Communications Engineer

Reports to – Project Manager

General Qualities:

- Ability to communicate as a valued team member with colleagues and clients of all levels.

- Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications.

- Work well with a team and individually.

- Familiarity with Construction industry codes.

- Responsive to Client and other KSE Manager/ needs, and all other duties as assigned.

Technical Responsibilities:

- Assist in development and execution of commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation

- Support pre-functional and functional testing of electrical, controls, and communications systems, as well as mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.

- Perform field inspections and verification of equipment installation and system performance

- Assist with commissioning documentation including checklists, test reports, and issue tracking logs

- Coordinate with contractors, design teams, facility owners, and agency representatives

- Participate in system start-up and integrated systems testing

- Assist in review of submittals, O&M manuals, and training documentation

- Support preparation of final commissioning reports

- Maintain project tracking tools and commissioning schedules

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and ability to learn other software and PMIS applications (Facility Grid, Procore, Unifier, etc.)

Education and Professional Licenses/Registrations:

- Bachelor of Science / Engineering (Electrical or Electronics/Communications preferred) 

- 0–3 years of engineering, construction, or commissioning experience

- Internship or co-op experience in construction, electrical and/or communications design, facilities, or testing preferred

- Recent graduates encouraged to apply 

- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain & OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

        - Occasional night or weekend work to support system shutdowns, testing, and facility cutovers

        - Ability to walk construction sites and access mechanical and electrical equipment rooms

        - Ability to climb ladders and access elevated equipment locations

        - Ability to work in active construction environments
