Junior Engineer or Physical Scientist / Nuclear Analyst

LOCATION: Work is 100% on-site, primarily at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facility in Germantown, Maryland. 

This opportunity is considered a "local hire" position that does not provide relocation assistance.

Global Engineering and Technology (GET) is seeking a Junior Engineer or Physical Scientist (e.g., a degree in physics, chemistry, etc.) to serve as a Technical Guidance Analyst (TGA) in the DOE's Office of Classification.  Join GET in providing the United States Government with national defense-related support of the highest standard. Duties:

• Under the mentorship of a Senior Technical Guidance Analyst (STGA), and in collaboration with the DOE National Laboratories and the National Nuclear Security Administration, the TGA will assist in the preparation of classification guidance and classification/declassification policy documents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE procedures for Restricted Data (RD), Formerly Restricted Data (FRD), National Security Information (NSI), and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI)

Compensation:

• This position has a compensation range of $105,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

Security Clearance:                        

• This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance or DOE Q security clearance; additionally, the applicant must have the ability to qualify for, and maintain, an SCI clearance as a condition of continued employment

Skills and Experience:

• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience supporting an NNSA facility
• Candidates with knowledge or familiarity with DOE Derivative Classification are highly regarded
• This position requires the ability to write concise technical subject matter guidance
• Must be able to read and understand written English at or above academic grade 15

Education:

• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nuclear engineering, a physical science discipline, or a related engineering discipline
