Job Description:
Redesign of the IT Capital Governance and Analytics function, to include application modernization, reporting automation and standardization, improved prioritization of capital initiatives and integration of capital and expense
Work with senior members of the team providing financial advice to IT Capital portfolios as it relates to financial performance in relation the annual plan, process and approve appropriation requests, lead financial discussions with portfolio Investment Council to assess financial performance and opportunity for prioritization, support the redesign of the function including identifying modernization opportunities
Summarize monthly actual and forecast results to Portfolio Investment Councils, providing an explanation of variances relative to forecast and plan, respectively
Actively participate in Portfolio Investment Council providing insights into the financial performance of the portfolio
Process portfolio appropriation requests, ensuring information provided is accurate and complete and in alignment with approvals set forth by the Portfolio Investment Council and accounting principles as laid out by controllers
Support the modernization of the function including providing feedback on automation and leading specific efforts
Provide guidance to portfolio managers in their preparation of the monthly forecast and submission of appropriation requests
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role understanding drivers of variance of forecast relative to plan
Experience developing forecast models
Experience interpreting historical financial performance in relation to forecast.
Ability to manage large data sets and synthetize results for executive management.
Proficient in all Microsoft tools, including Excel and PowerBI
Prefer experience with Clarity PPM as a forecasting tool and management of a capital portfolio.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
