Junior Financial Controller

The Junior Financial Controller ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient accounting operations. He/She manages audits, tax filings, budgeting, and financial planning while overseeing staff and implementing process improvements to support the organization's financial health.

Your role:

• Supports in preparing accurate financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.


• Ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.


• Coordinates audits and manages relationships with external auditors.


• Oversees the general ledger and ensures all transactions are properly recorded.


• Manages month-end and year-end closing processes.


• Ensures reconciliation of bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.


• Assists the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.


• Monitors financial performance and provides variance analysis.


• Identifies cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.


• Ensures timely and accurate tax filings (corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, etc.).


• Keeps up to date with tax laws and regulations.


• Supervises accounting staff and ensures their training and development.


• Delegates tasks and manages workflow within the accounting department.


• Continuously evaluates and improves accounting processes and systems.


• Implements best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


• Leverages technology to streamline financial operations.

What profile we are looking for:

• BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• ACA or ACCA semi-qualified or recently qualified or equivalent certification preferred.


• At least 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance roles.


• Proven experience in a senior accounting position, preferably within a similar industry.


• Fluent in Greek and English (written and verbal).


• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Proficiency in accounting software systems.


• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.


• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
