Junior Legal Counsel

Our client is expanding its legal team and is looking for a highly motivated Junior Legal Counsel with a background in commercial law. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the business across a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracts and intellectual property (IP) management.

This role is ideal for a qualified lawyer with 1–3 years of post-qualification experience, who is proactive, business-minded, and comfortable navigating complex, cross-border legal environments.

Requirements:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including supplier, vendor, service, and technology contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with applicable legal frameworks.
• Provide legal support on intellectual property matters, including IP ownership, licensing, brand protection, and enforcement within the iGaming space.
• Collaborate with internal teams—especially commercial, compliance, and finance—to assess legal risks and align contracts with strategic goals.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues related to commercial activities, providing practical, solution-oriented guidance.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations by drafting and negotiating data processing and data sharing agreements in an international context.
• Support with corporate governance matters and the preparation of documentation related to the group’s corporate structure.
• Maintain and manage a contract lifecycle system for organizing agreements and tracking key milestones such as renewals, expirations, and obligations.
• Conduct legal research and stay up to date with developments in regulatory frameworks governing international iGaming operations.
• Handle other legal tasks and projects as assigned to support the efficiency of the legal department.

Required Skills & Experience

• Qualified lawyer, preferably holding a warrant to practice law in Malta.
• Between 1 and 3 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on commercial, corporate, and/or IP law.
• Demonstrated experience in the iGaming industry is a plus
• Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and review complex legal agreements, including cross-jurisdictional contracts.
• Strong understanding of IP rights, licensing structures, and brand protection strategies.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of ownership.
