Junior Lions Sports Coach

Program Overview:
The Junior Lions Sports Program at Calvary Christian Academy is a Christ-centered intramural athletics program designed for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. This introductory-level program offers a fun and nurturing environment where children can explore various sports while developing teamwork, discipline, and a love for physical activity—all while growing in their faith.

Throughout the school year, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports including:
Soccer
T-Ball
Basketball
Karate
Flag Football
Tennis
Cheer/Dance Team

Position Summary:
We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic Christian individuals who have a passion for working with children and a heart for ministry through sports. Coaches will lead practices and mini games, introduce sport-specific fundamentals, and model Christ-like character in every interaction. This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to invest in the next generation both physically and spiritually.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging, age-appropriate practices and activities for one or more of the offered sports.
- Teach basic skills and rules of the sport in a fun, supportive manner.
- Supervise students at all times to ensure safety and a positive environment.
- Incorporate biblical principles and Christian values throughout practices and team time.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and program leaders.
- Assist with equipment setup and cleanup.
- Participate in team meetings or trainings as needed.

Qualifications:
- A committed Christian who aligns with the mission and values of Calvary Christian Academy.
- Experience working with children (preferably ages 5–11) in a teaching, coaching, or ministry capacity.
- Basic knowledge of the sport(s) being coached.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a group of young students with patience and positivity.
- Must be able to pass a Level II Background Check prior to employment.

Preferred:
- Prior coaching experience or background in youth sports.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Schedule:

Sports sessions are held after school from 3:15 PM – 4:30 PM throughout the school year. Coaches may lead one or more sports depending on interest and availability.
