Are you a detail-oriented professional with a background in nuclear operations or I&C? We are seeking a Junior Nuclear Procedure Writer to support critical testing and project development at Dominion Energy's North Anna Power Station.

In this role, you will act as a key Procedure Development Stakeholder, bridging the gap between engineering, operations, and end-users. You will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and approving procedures that align with Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) testing goals. Your work will ensure that operational documentation is not only technically accurate and compliant but also practical and user-friendly for the teams on the ground.

Why Join?

  • Flexible Schedule: Part-time hours (24 per week) designed for work-life balance.
  • Remote Flexibility: Open to non-local candidates; remote work is an option, with travel required for specific events like Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Per Diem Available: Financial support for qualified non-local candidates.
  • High-Impact Work: Contribute directly to the safety and efficiency of a leading energy provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procedure Development: Identify, write, and revise procedures to meet I&C testing requirements and project goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for procedure-related input, gathering feedback from various disciplines to ensure accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance: Review drafts to ensure they are practical, compliant with industry regulations, and ready for adoption by end-users.
  • Technical Writing: Prepare clear, descriptive copy using standard publishing tools and adhering to strict writer guidelines and nuclear standards.
  • Testing Support: Travel as required to attend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to ensure procedures align with equipment specifications.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Associate degree or completion of a technical program in a relevant craft discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls) or Nuclear Operations.
  • Preferred: Associate degree (in a related field).

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Nuclear Procedure Writer or in a similar role within the nuclear industry.
  • Demonstrated solid working knowledge of craft specialty or nuclear operations (e.g., current or inactive RO/SRO license is a plus).
  • Proven experience writing descriptive copy using publishing tools and adhering to technical writer guidelines.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of nuclear power plant operations and safety protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time, remote environment.
  • Proficiency with standard publishing and documentation software.
