We are the North American division of world-renown Metrohm AG (Herisau, Switzerland), an industry leader in laboratory instruments and accessories for analytical testing/research. We are looking for a Junior Service Specialist to join our team in our Riverview, FL facility. It’s your chance to be an integral part of dynamic team and make an immediate impact! As a successful Junior Service Specialist, you will apply your technical aptitude and experience to perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on Metrohm’s laboratory instruments. Essential Functions: Works on industrial and laboratory analytical analog and digital instrumentation through the application of schematics and various testing equipment. Troubleshoots to component level without assistance. Assists other technicians with electrical and mechanical problems to resolve repair issues. Applies technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles on equipment to perform complex repairs. Tests new titration or ion chromatography equipment or instruments prior to shipment. Assists customers over the telephone with problems or questions concerning instrumentation, as determined by Supervisor or Regional Service Manager. Cooperates and complies with all company, inventory control policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Works in the Service Center and in the field (limited) as deemed necessary by the Manager to resolve customer and product issues. Manages workflow and repair production to expedite repairs within the shops and coordinates activities with Service Support. Works with repair administration on advanced planning and component level ordering requirements for customer repairs and production/manufacturing schedules. Assures that repair, calibration, and service work is performed in compliance with the established quality management procedures and manufacturers specifications. Oversees the Metrohm Warranty program for credit and replacement and complete Return of Materials Authorized (RMAs) to Metrohm AG. Complete the assembly of assigned production orders of Preventative Maintenance (PM) Kits and simple assembles. Applies and continually develops understanding and method of logical troubleshooting and increased familiarity with instrumentation. Maintains and ensures company assets are protected and secured when in possession. Exercises all safety precautions as required. Limited travel as necessary to perform service support and technical assistance to resolve customer issue and problems. Perform other duties as assigned. Ideal Experience and Education: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Minimum one (1) year of related work experience; two (2) – three (3) years of related work experience in lieu of degree. Additional requirements:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and build rapport with others, both internal and external to the organization. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Experience with Microsoft CE service software preferred. Maintains compliance with quality and safety regulations. Light assembly work; coordinates with other departments on programming and testing projects.
