JUNIOR SOUS CHEF / SOUS CHEF
$50,000–$60,000/year | Full-Time | 45 Hours/Week
Fancypants is hiring a Junior Sous or Sous Chef ready to grow into leadership while staying close to the craft. We’re a kitchen where execution, creativity, and consistency matter and where every team member contributes to our evolving culinary story.
We’re looking for someone who leads with quiet confidence, knows how to run a tight line, and values mentorship as much as mise en place.
WHO YOU ARE
- Strong foundational skills; knife work, food safety, sanitation, and efficiency
- Experienced in leading the line or expediting during busy service
- Organized, calm under pressure, and consistent in execution
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Available to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
- A team builder who takes pride in coaching and supporting others
- Bonus: You’ve worked large-format dining, banquets, or group events
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead the line or expedite during peak services
- Maintain exceptional food standards across all stations
- Coordinate daily prep and delegate effectively
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Collaborate with leadership to refine systems and push quality forward
