As a Juvenile Detention Security Officer - Gatehouse in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and/or authorization, and help to control access to restricted areas in accordance with post orders and facility guidelines.
• Document visitor activity, maintain required logs and reports, and communicate security-related concerns, unusual activity, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established protocols for the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the building and perimeter to help to identify security-related issues, support access control operations, and report conditions that may require attention.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
