Position: K-12 ESL Teacher

FLSA Status: Exempt / Employment Type: Full Time / Reports To: Academy Principal 

Minimum Experience: Entry Level

Purpose:

Provide effective K-12 classroom instruction in ESL for pupils as well as manage the materials and resources used for educating them. The educator is responsible for managing student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

  Bachelor’s Degree required

  
  


• 
  

  Meet applicable State certification and license requirements, including any requirements for certification obtained through alternative routes to certification requirements as defined by the Michigan State Board of Education. Except as otherwise provided by law, the Academy shall use certificated teachers according to state board rules.

  
  


• 
  

  Satisfactory criminal background check required

Physical Requirements: 

Employees must be capable of performing the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for long periods of time. The work environment has a raised noise level.
