Full time CMA position. Practice specialty: Rheumatology and Internal Mediciine. Open Mon-Fri, shift rotation: 6:30 to 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.




Job Description:



Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our rheumatology clinic. As an Infusion Specialist, you will play a crucial role in administering infusions to our patients following established office protocols. Your attention to detail, clinical expertise, and patient-centered approach will contribute to the overall well-being of our patients.







Responsibilities:
1. Infusion Administration:
o Prepare and administer intravenous (IV) infusions according to prescribed treatment plans.
o Monitor patients during infusions, ensuring safety and comfort.
o Document infusion details accurately in patient records.







2. Patient Care:
o Escort patients to treatment rooms and prepare them for infusions.
o Educate patients on the infusion process, potential side effects, and self-care instructions.
o Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.







3. Office Protocols:
o Adhere to clinic protocols for infection control, aseptic techniques, and medication handling.
o Maintain a clean and organized infusion area.
o Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.







4. Documentation and Record Keeping:
o Record vital signs, medication administration, and patient responses during infusions.
o Update patient charts accurately and promptly.
o Assist with insurance pre-authorization for infusion therapies.







5. Equipment Management:
o Set up and maintain infusion equipment, including IV lines and supplies.
o Troubleshoot any equipment issues promptly.







6. Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with physicians, physician-assistant, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
o Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care discussions.
 



Requirements



Must be a Certified Medical Assistant. At least one year’s experience a must. Will consider CNA or Medical Scribes or Phlebotomist with infusions procedure experience. Covid vaccine is required, no booster is needed. 







​Qualifications:
• Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification (CMA or RMA).
• Experience: Prior experience in infusion therapy preferred.
• Skills:
o Proficient in venipuncture and IV catheter insertion.
o Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Detail-oriented and organized.
o Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Additional Information:
• This position is full-time, with regular clinic hours.
