Kennel Technician

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and comfort of our animal guests, as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment for them.

Responsibilities:

• Feed, water, and provide proper care to animals, including dogs, cats, and other small animals.
• Clean and sanitize animal living spaces and equipment on a regular basis.
• Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member.
• Assist with basic medical procedures, such as administering medication and taking vital signs.
• Groom animals, including bathing, brushing, and trimming nails.
• Provide exercise and socialization for animals as directed by staff.
• Assist with adoptions and animal intake as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with animals in a kennel or shelter environment is not required, but it would be a plus..
• Knowledge of animal care and behavior.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
