Job Description - Key Account Manager


  • The Key Accounts Manager services and develops assigned national/key accounts to help the company sell more product and increase net profits
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by identifying needs, keeping customer priorities in mind and implementing effective solutions that help customers sell more product
  • Holds regular meetings with buyers to review sales and store goals
  • Continuously increases product knowledge to become an expert resource for customers
  • Uses salesmanship and industry/product knowledge to implement effective customer solutions that maximize sales
  • Maintains an effective rapport with buyers/managers at each customer account, where there is open communication and trust
  • Applies the concept of “the salesman you leave behind” to sell more product in each account
  • Maintains adequate inventory at each customer account that increases high volume products and reduces or eliminates out-of-stocks
  • Effectively merchandises in all accounts, adhering to all customer policies, through the use of displays and POS
  • Monitors freshness of product at each account and ensures rotation or removal to meet company standards
  • Completes training, seminars and classes as assigned
  • Sells all products in accordance with company guidelines and T.A.B.C. (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission)
  • Completes and submits sales, incentive and other required reports accurately and on time

Requirements

  • A qualified National/Key Accounts Manager must have 5-7 years of sales experience
  • Must be licensed by T.A.B.C. to sell alcoholic beverages, or able to qualify for license
  • Must possess solid computer skills
  • Must have a proven record of sales success and customer satisfaction
  • Must possess a strong will to succeed and a need to achieve sales targets
  • Must be driven by the desire to help customers be successful
  • Must be able to communicate thoroughly and respectfully with customers to gain clear understanding of needs and priorities to help customers sell more product
  • Must possess solid leadership skills setting a good example for all staff
  • Must be a team player and well organized
  • Must have excellent knowledge of all brands and packages
