KH207 - Full-Time Executive Housekeeper - Milford, CT

A lovely private family is seeking a full-time executive housekeeper for their secondary residences in Milford/Woodmont, CT.  The candidate to hire will be working between two adjacent homes on the shoreline. Occupancy generally ranges from 2 to 8 family members, with occasional weekends of up to 10 people. When the household exceeds 8 guests, additional staff support is typically brought in. The executive housekeeper will work with an existing family chef and property manager to keep the household running smoothly.

General schedule:
Summer (Memorial Day- Labor Day): 

Wednesday and Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Friday and Saturday: 8:00am – 8:00pm

Sunday: Service through the family's departure (they often depart after breakfast but occasionally will spend the day) followed by household reset and initial preparation for the following week.

Monday and Tuesday off

Rest of the Year: 

During the off-season, the position is generally a 40-hour work week (with Monday and Tuesday off). The family is typically in residence approximately three out of four weekends per month, although occupancy may fluctuate depending on the season and family schedule.

Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving are generally considered working holidays and require the housekeeper to be on duty

• Maintenance and deep cleaning of a high-end home
• Accepting mail or packages
• Thorough deep cleaning
• Daily upkeep of living areas: general tidying, making beds, touching up bathrooms, doing dishes, replacing drinks in the refrigerator as they are used and taking out trash.
• Table setting and clearing for each meal.
• Serving all meals and attending to the table. This will also involve coordinating with the family’s chef. 
• Expert laundry care including washing, ironing and proper handling of fine garments, including dry cleaning pick up and delivery.
• Household organization, including closets, storage areas, and living spaces.
• Running occasional household errands.
• Shopping for general household needs and keeping the refrigerator and pantry stocked with drinks and staples.
• Pet Care: taking care of two cats 
• Assisting with the planning of periodic events and gatherings. Typically one larger party each summer and some holidays such as Thanksgiving and New Year’s. Additional help will be brought in for these events

• Organized, detail-oriented, discreet, with a flexible and proactive personality
• The ideal candidate will run the homes like a 5 star hotel, taking pride in their work
• A passion for table setting and/or floral arrangements would be much appreciated 

• Animal-friendly (the family has two cats and sometimes visitors may bring their friendly dogs)
• Driver’s license
• Commuting distance to Milford
• Extremely detail-oriented, meticulous, and professional
• Minimum of 5 years experience working as a housekeeper in private homes
• Legal to work in US
