Position: Kinder Camp Literacy Teacher
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM | (June 4-27; includes prep)
Compensation: $25–$35/hour based on experience
Location: Ethos Classical Charter School

About Kinder Camp

Ethos Classical’s Kinder Camp is a joyful, three-week literacy-focused summer experience designed to prepare rising kindergarten scholars for success in reading. Through hands-on instruction, interactive read-alouds, and name and letter mastery, scholars build confidence and community as they transition into elementary school.

Role & Responsibilities

The Kinder Camp Teacher will:

• Lead a group of 8 rising kindergarten scholars


• Deliver engaging, phonics-rich lessons that include name writing, letter recognition, and read-alouds


• Create joyful, consistent routines that mirror a strong K classroom


• Design and prep weekly literacy centers


• Maintain communication with families, including daily scholar celebrations and end-of-camp feedback


• Supervise scholars during snack and outdoor literacy play


• Collaborate with fellow camp teachers to align on lesson pacing and scholar needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; education degree preferred


• 1+ years experience teaching Pre-K–1st grade or leading early childhood enrichment programs


• Familiarity with structured literacy, early phonics, or Orton-Gillingham is a plus
