Kindness Coordinator

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Kindness positions purpose is to instill, teach, incorporate, spread and infuse all our youth and sites with Kindness is Free. Boys & Girls Club is seeking someone that has experience working with youth, has experience with motivational speaking and life coaching. It is important to spread kindness throughout and as part of the role; we would be providing kindness and outreach experiences to build awareness throughout the community through pop-up community services.

Identify and create opportunities to build public awareness of Club services around Kindness through youth engagement and kindness.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Leadership

• Develop and implement/calendar and program schedule around kindness programming to build awareness and support of the Club, programs, services and activities.
• Establish programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
• Provide Mentoring, Leadership and Supervision to assure proper conduct, safety and development of participants in line with our mission.
• Empower youth to inspire them to follow a “be kind” way of thinking and life philosophy to implementing kindness throughout their life/club.
• Develop and implement kindness activities and initiatives throughout all our locations.
• Conduct small group programming sessions for youth and engage youth in spreading kindness throughout the facilities.
• Transformational thinker to be able to make “Kindness” to be part of the Boys & Girls Club culture and make it a focal point of each club site.
• Host one large event annually in which we celebrate and promote kindness with 500-1,000 club members. Virtual/In-person or in smaller segments.

Safety

• Ensure adhere to appropriate safety protocols.
• Ensure that facilities/pop-up equipment & maintenance is happening and supplies maintained.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
• Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
• Other duties as assigned will be required as well. You must be flexible as determined by the needs of the program (occasional Saturdays and late-night hours).

• College degree or equivalent. Collaborative thinker, experience with motivating and inspiring youth.
• Empathy, great energy, inspirational willing to bring bright and bold new ideas around being kind and instilling these values and teachings to our future generation of youth.
• Be supportive, discreet, and non-judgmental about youth’s lives and aspirations. In addition, it is crucial for you to be able to passionately, and confidentially drive the dynamic and motivational conversation, to be kind.
• Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills. Strong communication skills both oral and written. Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details. Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
• Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
• Submit to a fingerprint background check; submit a clean DMV H6 report form and CPR/First Aid Certification.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday, occasional Saturday as required.

• Annual Salary Range: $49K - $54K
