Kitchen Assistant

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a reliable kitchen assistant that will prepare lunch and dinner from a pre-selected menu. You should be willing to work as part of a team to ensure that the food is prepared and ready to serve on time. In addition to food preparation, you will be responsible for coordinating food storage, loading and unloading trucks.

You must be polite and prompt with a commitment to providing our clients with excellent experience.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Participate in food preparation according to standard menu, recipes, and verbal instructions.

Production and understanding the regulations of preparing and serving in matters of temperature, appearance, and portion size.

• Understand the regulations of preparing and serving in matters of temperature, appearance, and portion size.


• Repeatedly lift and/or otherwise move cases and pans of food and other materials.


• Pack food properly for transportation to other residential facilities and meal sites and may assist with deliveries when needed.


• Assist with serving meals.


• Store food as directed.


• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect clients, equipment, materials, and facilities.


• The employee shall maintain a consistent presence at the assigned work site(s) and work the regular work hours specified.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain the ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, pull, and lift items weighing 40 lbs.


• Repeatedly lift and/or otherwise move cases and pans of food and other materials.

SKILLS NEEDED/EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in quantity food production and preparation preferred.


• Must be pleasant, cooperative, and able to work with clients, co-workers, and the public.


• Strong time management skills.


• Attention to detail.
